SOMERVILLE, MA – “Surface Matters: Exploring the Sense and Substance of Paint” features painters Adria Arch, Ron Brunelle, Jessie Morgan and Diane Novetsky exploring “the riches of paint surface and texture from luminous veils of color to earthy layers of crusty impasto” and runs from January 24 through March 2 at the Brickbottom Gallery, 1 Fitchburg Street in Somerville, Mass. “The four artists share an interest in the physical properties of paint, an abiding loyalty to abstraction as a guiding force of their art and a very personal approach to color — a central aspect of their work,” said Novetsky, the show’s curator.
